I write my first Carrot blog with a heavy heart. I must recap and record the recent results of a tournament in which I did not come out on top.

It all started a few days ago, when CWD obtained an official ping pong table (unfortunately, it is not the Carrot green or orange). And what started out as friendly, five-minute games of ping pong at break time quickly became the first annual Carrot Ping Pong Tournament. Our fellow office building dwellers even got in on the action. There were hard fought matches, rules created to cater to the office setting and an overall fun-loving time. The four finalists were Bobby, Shaboo, Mike, and I. And although there were no actual medals given out, Mike took home the gold, Shaboo the silver, Bobby the bronze and I got green star sticker for “a good effort.”

We have always said that Carrot’s clients are like family. And like a proud family member at Thanksgiving Dinner I just wanted to brag about Sandy Centorino, executive Director of The CUREchief Foundation, Inc. Sandy was selected as one of the Twenty Noteworthy Women by the Business Times today. While Carrot worked with Sandy in creating a new design for the CUREchief website, it was apparent to all of us that she was someone very special. Her hard work has been paying off for years with the growth of the CUREchief Foundation, and it is nice to see her get the recognition she deserves.

Mike, Bobby, and George came back this past Friday from Chicago. They split up and went to their parents for Easter. At that time we had not received updates about the conference until Tuesday. Now, I have the pleasure to inform you all about the complete success of the Chicago Carrot Crew.

Director of the Conference Robert Chiarito contacted us today
with the reviews of Mike’s speech on “The Perception Makers.” Mike received one of the highest scores of the conference with a 4.7 out of 5. We also received some interesting comments about his speech:

Mike, Bobby, and George are leaving today for Chicago to attend the Social Media 2007 conference. The past few weeks have been full of research and preparation for Mike’s speech.

We know you’ll do great, Mike! Good luck!

In the spirit of competition, all Carrot employees were invited to participate in this year’s March Madness Carrot Pool. After a fun few weeks of friendly rivalry and a little name calling, we are happy to announce that Christian Shaboo is now the Carrot Champion. Maybe next year George and Chris will care to join in on the fun and get their picks in on time.

    Here are the office standings:

    1. Christian Shaboo
    2. Tom Dehnel
    3. Mike Germano
    4. Steve Sohcot
    5. Bobby Gaafar
    6. Ricky Baltimore
    7. Erin Sullivan
    8. Patrick Ippolito
    9. Matt Furtado

Mike and I have been working on an extremely exciting and perhaps profound piece of literature to be released in the near future. The article is tentatively titled “In a Web 2.0 State of Mind: optimizing time, energy and resources in a consumer-generated content world.”
