Well, we are entering the home stretch of completing our first project with MLB.com. The next couple weeks will be spent tweaking any UI/UX design imperfections to create the greatest possible social network utility for our national pastime online. In working on this project, we have had an amazing opportunity to approach the interface and design from both the perspective of being true fans of the game of baseball and from the perspective of being professionals at the top of their game (small joke). We are confident that this dualistic approach, which we attempt to pursue on every Carrot Creative project, will create the ultimate social community sports experience. More to come soon! HOORAY FOR OPENING DAY!
Today marks yet another potential scoring drive for Carrot Creative. I just got back from a meeting with the NFL (National Football League), yet I am still awestruck with the potential of working with a client that is solely responsible for our winter recreation (that being staring at a wide-screen TV or laptop screen for hours on end to watch the gridiron games). Although I can not further elaborate on this potential opportunity, I can say that the new logo for the NFL and the Championship rings for the New York Football Giants, both of which I got to see first hand at the meeting, are simply stunning.
Remember the days of school pictures? Mom would lay out our best clothes and say, “smile big, but not too big– and no scary faces,” as we headed out the door to have our greatness capture in front of a pastel hue backdrop? Those days may be long gone, but the need to immortalize ourselves through planned photographs has still not left the souls of the Carrot Crew, thus today marked the first annual Staff Picture Day at Carrot Headquarters. Just got out of the facebook developer garage here at sxsw. The conference has been pretty amazing so far, I’ve met a lot of great people, and heard a lot of great ideas. When I get back to Brooklyn I’ll post some links to some of the better talks I heard and some of the pictures I took.
Tonight I’ll be at the tumblr rock band party, then who knows. Twitter @kortina if you’re out and want to meetup.
This week we begin the process of hiring a new Social Media Marketing Director to the company. We could not be happier to begin this process as it is a sure sign of our vast and continued success. I am sure it will not be long before we are the most recognized name throughout NYC and the Northeast as one of the truly creative Web 2.0 firms. If you are interested in this position, or know someone who would be a great candidate to become part of the Carrot Crew, please click HERE to find out more.
They say color breeds creativity. I’m not quite sure who “they” are, but I do know that this weekend marked the beginning of making the Carrot Creative Brooklyn Headquarters one of the most creative spaces in New York City. Saturday and Sunday were spent splashing Carrot green all around the office. We even got the girlfriends to pitch in, which we can not thank them enough for. And while this is only the first step in making this new office space our own, we are pumped to have more weekends invested in creating a new Carrot Creative home. Check out our Flickr to see the end result of the painting extravaganza.
Carrot Creative’s Crew would like to invite family and friends to come celebrate our company’s 3rd Birthday and the opening of our new Brooklyn office. We are calling the night “Cocktails & Carrots” and I assure you it will be a ton of fun. The party will take place Thursday April 17th from 7 - 9 at our new pad Suite 329 on 55 Washington St. Brooklyn NY.
After work today, I’m leaving straight from the DUMBO office for Austin, TX. I’m super excited that Carrot is sending me down to represent at SXSW. I’ve wanted to go now for a number of years, but just haven’t made it yet for some reason.
Anyway, I’ll be down there meeting new people, taking photos, and hopefully learning a lot. Let me know if you’re gonna be down there and want to meet up or if you have any suggestions for events to check out. You can drop me a line at http://twitter.com/kortina
Now, back to work for a few more hours.
