Carrot Creative…Shortly after I moved to New York, I started frequenting the tech scene and I heard about them. A few months went by and I kept hearing more. Coincidentally, I was on the hunt for that perfect fit. I was looking to learn from entrepreneurs, immerse myself in the social web and have an impact. One thing led to another and I was interviewing with Mike and Kristin – the most enjoyable interview I’ve ever had, by the way. After that, I knew Carrot was where I needed to be.
I’m a West Coast guy, born and raised in the Pacific Northwest (Boise, Idaho and Seattle mainly). I’m an Oregon Duck, but I also bleed a little Crimson for ‘Bama football. I’ve been a big nerd and a jock all my life, so I’ve found solace in playing lacrosse and running my college team, working for Sports Illustrated, writing about the social web, running a lacrosse news site and competing for Brooklyn kickball championships. In a nutshell, that’s me – I love the game, I love technology, and I love building things.
At Carrot, I’m the new Digital Strategist. I’ll help create and execute plans for advancing the online reach of brands big and small. First up: an awesome new online video startup, where I’ll spend a good chunk of my time helping them grow.
Prior to this, I worked in consumer research, retention marketing and audience development positions at Time Inc. Most recently, as an analyst for Time Inc’s Lifestyle group, I specialized in web analytics; helping to improve user interfaces and build strategies to develop online audiences for their brands.
It’s great to be here at Carrot. I keep getting that new car scent. In this case, I feel like I just jumped into a mind-blowing orange muscle car with green racing stripes alongside an accomplished, innovative team that shares the same passions I do. Seriously, it’s a cool feeling.
