Keep your fingers crossed for Nathan Verni as he puts his Ruby on Rails skills to test in the first annual Rails Rumble . This competition, which begins Saturday, September 8, challenges programmers and designers to fully design, develop and deploy a web application created using Ruby on Rails within 48 hours. After that time, the online community will have a week to evaluate the application on a variety of categories: user interface, practicality, originality and overall concept. The winning applications will receive prize packages from various sponsors including, but not limited to, Linode.com, ActiveState and Apress. The winners will be announced and on display at this year’s Ruby East Conference. For more details, and to check out Nathan’s application, go to www.railsrumble.com .
As one Carrot’s primary programming consultants, particularly with Ruby, we know Nathan will bring home the Championship belt.
No… seriously… there is a WWE-like belt to be won.
