Well its about time the rest of the Carrot Crew let me in on this blog thing. Hello! Hola! Hej! YO!
For all of those who do not know me, and even for those that do, allow me to formally introduce myself: I’m Julius. I come from the land of IKEA, you may have heard of it. And if you have been in the office, or if you have seen any pictures of the office, I am the big bright orange dude on all fours.
@mikegermano and I visited the Onion offices today to speak with them about some pretty cool new stuff they’re working on. It’s always a pleasure speaking with people who just get it.
After our meeting, we headed to a great lunch in Soho and enjoyed a little afternoon sunlight. (I’m sure Mike will be recording his thoughts on lunch via his newest social media outlet, yelp.)
Anyway, we’re eagerly anticipating the release of some new stuff from the Onion and we’ll be sure to throw some links up once it’s live.

Stop by the Carrot Creative Brooklyn Headquarters and work for the day!
As part of our ongoing efforts to support the growing New Media community in the Northeast, Carrot Creative is offering our Brooklyn office space as a “home away from home” for any bloggers, developers, web designers and any other New Media types that find themselves in the NYC area in need of a temporary place to work. Anyone who visits will find we strike a perfect balance of professionalism and fun on a day-to-day basis. Simply drop us an e-mail, a twitter—any means of communication letting us know when you will be in our neighborhood.
This initiative also marks a new series on the Carrot Blog which will highlight each person who works from the Carrot offices for the day. And while I would like to say more, I think I will let our newest addition to the Carrot Blog tell you more about our office sharing adventures.
Its been about a week since Carrot’s Birthday Bash, and we would like to again thank everyone who came to celebrate with us. It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating Carrot’s first birthday, where there were a handful of us crammed in a little Connecticut office intoxicated off the hopes and desires to make Carrot Creative a successful and well recognized name in the New Media field. Now, just two years later, we feel that we have achieved that and so much more, and could not have done it without the support of our clients, family and friends. This Carrot Birthday Bash, much like the ones that preceeded it and the ones we have to look forward to, was not only a way for us to celebrate our success, but was a small token of our appreciation for all of you.
The Carrot Crew will be in full force at PodCampNYC this year. It is a little walk from our office so we don’t need to fly to the West Coast! If you will be attending let us know so we can meet up. See everyone there!
Happy Earth Day from everyone at Carrot Creative. We plan to use this day as a reminder of how we are all responsible for contributing to better environmental practices and “greener” lifestyles, on a daily basis… every little bit helps, and we intend to continue looking for new ways to reduce our impact as both a company, and as individuals.
On that note, we’d like to share a few of our favorite products and some of our daily green reads!
Products
Klean Kanteen (via AMZ): We rock the 27oz loop caps ourselves. More info on why these are a much better alternative to plastics @ Klean Kanteen
Wegmans ReUsable Shopping bag: Most food stores now sell these for a dollar or two- they offer a great alternative to non-biodegradable, one-use plastic bags, and function beyond groceries. If you ever catch me on my way into the Carrot HQ, chances are you’ll notice me ladden with them carry everything from my lunch to books and whatever else I can overburden myself with that day.
USBCELL AA Rechargable Batteries (via AMZ): A great option for rechargeable batteries, these conveniently charge via USB port! On sale this morning at AMZ’s Goldbox too!
Solar Panel Backpack (via AMZ) & SolarRolls power alternative: While pricey up front, these undoubtedly pay for themselves in sheer convenience and energy reduction, over time. These are on my personal wishlist for my birthday… in case any fiancés or family are reading this!
